Some time ago, Weekly Photo Challenge published fresh theme. At that time I uploaded a photo es durian that I tasted when visiting Padang, West Sumatra, in 2012. For this week’s challenge, I have to upload something different, but still about food and drink. The photo above is the one I chosen.
I almost never miss fruits and juice when I have breakfast at the hotel which provides enough menus option. One of them was breakfast at one of the hotels in Surabaya, where I stayed some time ago. Besides getting a welcome drink when it arrived, I also have a lot of choice in the breakfast menu. Including fruits and juice.
The hotel served fruits as the same with other hotel that I have visisted. But there is a different about the juice. Hotel served two places to get juice.
The first place provide orange juice, guava, and apple or juice mixture of several kinds of fruit. While the second place have smaller container than the first provides two kinds of juice. Yam and pakcoy juice. I just saw pakcoy juice.
I do not know what pakcoy is and how it’s taste. Curious, I pour a little to mu glass. It’s taste is good. I pour it again to full my glass and put it together with slices of watermelon and melon in the table.
Intrigued, I also find out what pakcoy is. Pakcoy or pokcay, is a vegetable with a similar appearance to mustard greens but with a shorter form, small, and has a wide leaf stems.
Pakcoy is good for pregnant women because it contains folate. Pakcoy can reduce cholesterol, good for digestion, eye health, can help the process of blood clotting, good for skin health, and helps collagen production.
